It was great to come back to a beautiful New Lanark Mill Hotel in Lanarkshire to document the wedding of Katie and Mike – fantastic couple with positive vibe around them. Comic books has brought them together and there were some lovely details with super heroes theme that they have prepared for the wedding. My favourite was Katie’s shoes!
The weather forecast the day before the wedding was not too optimistic with lots of rain showers, which have got me worried a bit, as I really wanted to get some photos of them outside the hotel, but we had a lot of luck and it didn’t rain when we went outside after the ceremony. Sweet!
Katie didn’t want to be in front of the camera when getting ready and instead I photographed her dad preparing for her wedding 🙂 and then I hang out with Mike and the rest of the guys where I had a pleasure to witness Mike’s family whisky tradition. It has started on Mike’s Mum & Dad’s wedding day where the father of the groom gave his son a bottle of whisky and he has given Mike a bottle of his own to open on the day of the wedding for the men to have a drink from.
The ceremony was lovely, filled with tears and laughter and soon after we headed to the roof of the hotel for some portraits of two of them. We hang around the hotel for a wee while taking the opportunity of the merciful weather. The day went really fast and soon it was time for the first dance which was really nice.
Thank you again Katie and Mike for allowing me to be a part of your wonderful wedding day and for making me feel like part of the family. I appreciate it a lot.
