Family vacation photography in St Andrews Scotland
When you’re planning your family vacation in Scotland, one town you should definitely consider is St Andrews. Situated between Edinburgh and Dundee, it’s a lovely place with a lot to offer. Recently, a lovely Hari and Sheila’s family from the USA chose St Andrews for their vacation and hired me, a photographer, to capture their moments in this beautiful town. I was thrilled for the opportunity to meet them and spend some time together, capturing their love and the lovely moments they shared as a family in this picturesque place.
St Andrews has so many attractions to explore. From the Byre Theatre and the Scottish Deer Centre to the Aquarium, Scotland’s Secret Bunker, Kellie Castle, and guided walks of the Old Course, there is something for everyone. When planning the photography session for the family, we focused on choosing locations that would provide the best backdrops and include some historical buildings. St Andrews Castle was the perfect choice.
Perched on a rocky cliff overlooking the beach known as Castle Sands, St Andrews Castle offered a stunning view. I decided to start by capturing the entire space, so we walked a bit further from the castle. There, I found the perfect spot where the family could have fun in the grass while showcasing the beauty of the castle in the distance, bathed in the warm light of the setting sun.
As a photographer, I aim to create timeless and fun photographs. I want to capture the essence of the moment, the love and joy shared by families, and the beauty of the surroundings. St Andrews in Scotland provided the perfect backdrop for this family’s vacation photography, and I am grateful to have had the chance to be a part of their memorable experience.
