Before I post a wedding of these two fantastic people I would like to share an outstanding post with a pre-wedding shoot of Laura and Chris which we did during the summer. They have chosen Kelvingrove Park and Kelvingrove Museum as our location for the shoot. It holds a special place in their hearts and you can read why in a short but entertaining story on how they have met, sent to me by Laura.
Chris and I had met a year before in our local pub – we both fancied each other from the outset, but Chris was far too shy to say anything, so it was another year before we met again!
The second time we met Chris asked me out at long last on a date! We agreed we wanted to do something a bit different – so we decided to go to “Alien Wars”, which was a live action experience where you were chased about by a Xenomorph. Unfortunately, the night didn’t quite go as planned – in fact, it was a bit of a disaster!
I had been feeling unwell during the day at work, but I didn’t want to let Chris down, so I loaded up on painkillers and met him anyway! Despite not feeling well, we had a great time – escaping the aliens, getting a pizza and a few drinks. The chat flowed so well, I couldn’t believe it – it actually felt surreal! There were no awkward pauses and I never once had to consult my emergency list of topics to prevent cringeworthy silences!
As the night went on, I began to physically feel worse and worse. I was developing a fever very quickly, so on the train home, I decided it would be a great idea to rub my face against the train window to cool down. Any other person would have probably thought this was very strange behaviour, but Chris, in fact, joined me! That’s when I knew he was the one!
It turned out, in the end, I had a kidney infection, which led to a week in the hospital!
The next time Chris and I met, I was on the mend. We decided to head to Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery – a museum that I have adored since I was a little girl. We’re both massive history and culture buffs, so it was the perfect day out. When we went to buy tickets to see the Ancient Egypt exhibition that was visiting at the time, the doorman let us in for free!
Due to my strange behaviour on our first date, I was keen to impress Chris with my Ancient Egyptian knowledge. I shouldn’t have bothered. I ended up headbutting a very special sarcophagus instead! Very smooth.
We’d been going out almost three years when Chris proposed to me in Shakespeare’s Garden in Central Park, New York. It was at sunset and completely took my breath away. A few years later, in October 2017, we tied the knot and we’ve never been happier!
I hope that these photographs will warm up your hearts during these cold and short winter days! I am posting this on a New Years Eve, so I hope your New Year is filled with success, health, prosperity and happiness. Happy New Year!
