Brig o’ Doon – A Stunning Wedding Venue in Ayrshire
Brig o’ Doon House Hotel is one of Ayrshire’s most breathtaking wedding venues. Its historic charm, riverside setting, and iconic 15th-century bridge create a romantic backdrop for any celebration. The beautifully landscaped gardens offer endless photo opportunities, while the grand ballroom provides an elegant space for a lively reception. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a big celebration, this venue has everything you need for an unforgettable day.
Suzanne & Kerr – A Day Filled with Love and Laughter
Suzanne and Kerr’s wedding was the first I photographed in 2021, and what a fantastic start to the year! From the moment I arrived, I could feel the excitement in the air.
Suzanne got ready at her parents’ home in Paisley, surrounded by her family and closest friends. When she stepped into her dress, she looked absolutely stunning. Her long, flowing gown was elegant and timeless, making her look like she had stepped straight out of a bridal magazine.
At Brig o’ Doon, the ceremony was emotional and filled with heartfelt moments. As Suzanne walked down the aisle, Kerr’s face said it all—pure love and admiration. The ceremony blended touching vows, joyful laughter, and a few happy tears. It was clear how much these two mean to each other.
Portraits and Family Photos on the Historic Bridge
After the ceremony, we stepped outside to capture family portraits and couple photos. The historic bridge and beautiful gardens provided the perfect setting. Suzanne and Kerr were completely in the moment, enjoying a few quiet minutes together before rejoining their guests. The golden evening light made everything look even more stunning, and these portraits became some of my favourite images from the day.
Cake Cutting & A Reception Full of Energy
Once the photos were done, it was time to head inside for the cake cutting. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as guests gathered around to celebrate the couple.
Then came the speeches, which had everyone laughing, tearing up, and reminiscing about cherished memories. The love and support for Suzanne and Kerr were felt in every word.
An Incredible Night of Dancing
With formalities out of the way, the real party began. Suzanne and Kerr had their first dance, a beautiful moment shared between just the two of them. Soon after, the dancefloor filled with guests ready to celebrate.
The ceilidh dancing was a highlight, with everyone—no matter their skill level—giving it their best shot. Some guests mastered the steps, while others simply enjoyed the fun, laughing their way through the routines. The energy was electric, and the dancefloor stayed packed all night.
