I first met Debra and Shaun during their incredible 5 AM engagement shoot on the beach at Loch Lomond in Luss, just a few weeks before their wedding. The early morning light, the peaceful surroundings, and their undeniable chemistry made it an unforgettable experience. Naturally, their wedding day was just as magical—filled with emotions, laughter, and special moments that made it truly unique.
A Breathtaking Venue – The Waterside Hotel
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Ayrshire coastline, The Waterside Hotel is an exceptional wedding venue located between West Kilbride and Ardrossan. With panoramic sea views, a gorgeous beachfront location, and stylish interiors, it offers the perfect setting for couples who dream of a romantic wedding by the water.
Not only does the venue boast modern elegance, but it also blends coastal charm with luxury. The nautical-themed décor, beautifully designed reception rooms, and picturesque outdoor spaces create a truly special atmosphere. Whether couples choose to exchange vows indoors or on the seafront terrace, The Waterside Hotel provides an unforgettable backdrop for every moment.
A Day Full of Emotions and Laughter
From the very start, Debra and Shaun’s wedding was an absolute joy to capture. Their love for each other was evident in every moment, and the day was filled with so much laughter and happiness.
One of the most unforgettable moments happened early on when Debra decided to prank Shaun. She called him, pretending that they had to move the wedding to another hotel! His reaction was absolutely priceless, and the entire room burst into laughter.
However, beyond the fun, there were also deeply emotional moments—especially during the ceremony. As Debra walked down the aisle, Shaun couldn’t hold back his tears. The depth of his emotions was truly touching, and you could feel how much this moment meant to both of them.
Romantic Beach Portraits – Day and Night
Although the day was cloudy, the soft, diffused light created a dreamy and cinematic atmosphere. After the ceremony and family photos, we made our way to the beach for their first portrait session. The combination of dramatic skies, rolling waves, and the stunning coastline resulted in breathtaking images that truly captured the essence of their love story.
Later in the evening, we returned to the beach for a second portrait session at night. This time, the setting felt completely different—peaceful, intimate, and incredibly romantic. The soft glow of the evening light, the sound of the waves, and the way they held each other made for some of my favorite images of the day.
A Night of Celebration with The Big Papas
As the evening unfolded, the party truly came to life. The incredible band, The Big Papas, ensured that the dance floor stayed packed all night long. Their high-energy performance, fantastic song choices, and ability to get everyone involved made the celebration even more memorable. Whether it was the couple’s first dance or the guests dancing their hearts out, The Big Papas kept the energy levels high and the fun going all night.
A Day to Remember
