The Scottish Highlands have a way of making every moment feel cinematic, and Marissa, David, and their two sons couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting for their Glencoe Viewpoint family vacation photoshoot. With stunning landscapes, golden evening light, and plenty of fun along the way, this session was an unforgettable one.
A Short Hike to Breathtaking Views
We started with a short 5-minute hike near the Three Sisters of Glencoe to get a higher vantage point over the valley. The weather at the end of July was incredible – soft evening sunlight breaking through the clouds, casting a warm glow over the mountains.
The boys had so much energy, so we kicked things off with a game of tag to help them relax and ease into the session. I always include some posed shots, but I like to keep things fun with plenty of movement and games. They ran around laughing, had piggyback rides, and fully embraced the adventure, which made for the most natural and joy-filled moments. Marissa and David joined in too, making it a session full of laughter and connection.
Panoramic Beauty at Glencoe Viewpoint
Next, we took a short drive to Glencoe Viewpoint, one of my favourite spots in the area. With 360-degree views in every direction, it’s a dream setting for any photoshoot.
We continued the fun here with more games, relaxed moments, and even some breathtaking drone shots. Seeing the family framed by the vast mountains and rolling landscapes from above was simply magical. It’s one thing to stand in Glencoe and take in the views, but seeing it from the air adds a whole new level of beauty.
A Peaceful Finish at Loch Ba
As the sun began to set, we made our way to Loch Ba Viewpoint for the final part of the session. The whole family stayed engaged, walking together, running, and sharing warm hugs as they soaked in the breathtaking surroundings. The connection between them was beautiful to witness, and the movement made for some truly heartfelt and natural images.
