Engagement photography Glencoe
Looking for engagement photography in Glencoe? This breathtaking part of the Scottish Highlands is one of the most popular and dramatic destinations for couples who want unforgettable photos. With towering mountains, winding glens, waterfalls, and hidden lochs, Glencoe offers the perfect backdrop for adventurous couples who want more than just a photoshoot – they want an experience. As a photographer, I love capturing engagement sessions in Glencoe because every season, every turn of the road, and every patch of light brings something new and magical.
I’m always excited when I get the chance to photograph couples in the Scottish Highlands, and one of my favourite places for engagement photography is Glencoe. It’s one of the most dramatic landscapes in Scotland, filled with towering mountains, winding glens and hidden lochs. Every time I return here with a couple, it feels like a brand-new adventure, and this session with Chasidy and Sam was no exception.
For their engagement photoshoot in Glencoe, we decided to explore Glen Etive and Loch Etive. This location is famous not only for its beauty but also because it featured in the James Bond movie Skyfall. Sam is a huge Bond fan, so naturally he wanted to recreate the iconic frame from the film. It was such a fun idea and gave the shoot an extra layer of meaning.
Chasidy and Sam live in the USA, but Sam is originally from England. They are planning their wedding back home later this year, and before all the wedding celebrations begin, they wanted something truly unique for their engagement photos. It was their very first trip to the Scottish Highlands, so I knew this was going to be a memorable experience. I always aim to make my engagement sessions more than just photos – I want my couples to enjoy exploring these stunning landscapes while I capture genuine moments along the way.
The drive through Glen Etive is one of the most breathtaking in Scotland. It takes around 30 minutes to reach Loch Etive from the main road, but honestly, it’s hard to drive more than a few minutes without stopping. The valley is surrounded by mountains, and every bend reveals a new view that makes you want to pull over. For engagement photography in Glencoe, this road is an absolute dream because it offers such variety – from dramatic mountain backdrops to quiet riversides and, finally, the still waters of Loch Etive.
Chasidy and Sam were amazing to photograph. They were adventurous, relaxed, and totally embraced the moody Highland weather. We stopped at several points along the road, taking time to soak in the views and capture a mix of candid and romantic shots. When we reached Loch Etive, the landscape opened up with wide views across the water, framed by rugged peaks. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel small in the best way possible, and it was the perfect backdrop for their engagement session.
Engagement photography in Glencoe offers something truly special. The combination of natural beauty, dramatic light, and quiet, remote locations makes it ideal for couples who want photos that feel adventurous and authentic. Whether it’s recreating a scene from Skyfall like Chasidy and Sam, or simply exploring the valleys and waterfalls together, there are endless opportunities for creating unique memories here.
I loved spending the day with these two, showing them around one of my favourite parts of Scotland and capturing their story in such a cinematic landscape. For couples visiting Scotland and looking for a destination engagement session, Glencoe and Glen Etive are unforgettable choices.
If you’re considering engagement photography in Glencoe, I’d love to help you plan a session that feels personal and fun while making the most of these iconic locations.
